Ghana international Razak Simpson has penned an emotional farewell message to Nations FC following the completion of his move to Finnish top-flight side Vaasa Palloseura (VPS).The Black Stars defender signed a three-year contract with the Veikkausliiga club, bringing an end to a memorable spell with Nations FC, where he established himself as one of the Ghana Premier League’s standout defenders.In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Simpson thanked the club for giving him the platform to develop into both a professional footballer and an international.”First of all, I give thanks to God Almighty. This is your boy Simpson. I just wanted to say Nations was my home and still it is,” he wrote.”You opened your doors for me to become who I am today and no words can describe these feelings.”The 27-year-old reflected on his time at the club, saying he cherished every moment and remained committed to the badge regardless of the results.”I enjoyed every game and every tournament, and I defended these colours above all, win, draw or lose. Most importantly, I learned every day the values that this club represents.”Simpson also paid tribute to everyone who contributed to his journey, including his teammates, coaches, medical staff, club officials and supporters, while reserving special appreciation for Nations FC owner Dr. Kwame Kyei.”These past years, I met a lot of amazing people, teammates who became brothers, coaches, physios, cooks, press staff, directors and the amazing supporters. Special thanks to Dr. Kwame Kyei.”The defender also spoke of his pride in representing Ghana, describing his Black Stars career as the fulfilment of a lifelong dream.”I fulfilled the dream of any kid who wants to defend his motherland through football, and how proud I am to wear and captain the nation’s colours.
