The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, has criticised the “era where evangelism and church planting is on a low scale while the crave for titles, wealth, and fame is on the ascendancy.”

Rev. Wengam, who doubles as the Vice Chairman of Africa Assemblies of God Alliance, was speaking at a graduation ceremony of the West Africa Advanced School of Theology at Lome, Togo.

He challenged pastors and Christians to ensure that God’s sending mission of winning souls and planting churches does not end with this generation.

The General Superintendent, who was the Keynote Speaker, also preached on the theme, “Torch Bearers Completing the Missio Dei of God”.

In all, 109 students from 14 countries graduated with First degree, Masters degree and PhD. Present were nine General Superintendents of Assemblies of God.

Rev. Wengam and Lady Monica Wengam have also paid a courtesy call on the General Superintendent of Togo Assemblies of God, Rev. Djakouti Mitre, in Lome.

The purpose was to renew the long-standing relationship and foster closer collaboration between Ghana and Togo Assemblies of God in church planting and leadership development.

Rev. Wengam commended Rev. Djakouti Mitre for his visionary leadership leading to the fast growth of Togo Assemblies of God.

For his part, Rev Mitre promised greater collaboration from the Togo Assemblies of God. He congratulated Rev. Wengam on his assumption of office as General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana. Present was the General Secretary and Special Advisor to the Executive Presbytery of Togo Assemblies of God.
