Presidential staffer for the Black Star Experience, Rex Owusu Marfo, popularly known as Rex Omar, has emphasised the programme’s inclusive vision.

Speaking in an interview with Ghana Weekend at the launch of the initiative in Accra on Thursday, May 1, he underscored that the initiative was designed for every Ghanaian, urging all creatives to focus and work diligently toward its success.

Omar highlighted that the Black Star Experience would be celebrated across all 16 regions of Ghana, ensuring it reached a wide audience and benefitted the entire nation, rather than just a select few.

“This initiative is meant for everyone,” he stated, reinforcing the importance of collective participation in its execution.

Omar further noted that President John Dramani Mahama was committed to investing intentionally in Ghana’s creative sector.

“This will generate revenue and create meaningful jobs for the youth, especially women,” Omar added, signaling a strong focus on economic empowerment through creativity.

Omar announced that a rollout plan for activities would soon be established, detailing which regions would host specific events and their timing.

He added “There’s going to be a big fashion week in July, along with a lot more this year and beyond.”
