Ghana centre-back Riis Opoku Twumasi has joined Slovakian club STK Samorin from FC Sheriff on a free transfer.
The 20-year-old defender moves to Samorin from Moldovas top flight, with the club competing in Slovakias II. Liga. The deal was completed on 16 September 2026, marking Twumasis latest step in a career that has taken him between Ghana, Moldova and Slovakia.
Twumasi was born in Kumasi and stands at 1.87m. He is listed primarily as a centre-back and represents STK 1914 Samorin, the clubs full name. His current market value is 150,000.
The defender joined FC Sheriff from Ghanaian side Aduana in September 2025 for a 100,000 fee. That move came shortly after he had left Berekum Chelsea to join Aduana in August 2025, although the fee for that transfer was not recorded.
Twumasis move to Samorin comes at the start of the 2026-27 campaign. He had not made a senior appearance for FC Sheriff in the Super Liga before switching clubs, and had also not featured in the clubs qualifying matches in either the UEFA Conference League or Europa League.
His arrival gives Samorin a Ghanaian defender with experience of moving between different domestic competitions at an early stage of his career. The transfer also takes him from a club competing in Moldovas Super Liga to a side playing in Slovakias second tier.
Twumasis new contract length has not been disclosed, and there is no indication of a transfer fee because the move was completed as a free transfer. His previous deal with FC Sheriff followed a paid move from Aduana, but he now continues his career in Slovakia without a fee changing hands.
The switch was completed on 16 September, with Twumasi becoming a player of STK Samorin on a free transfer.
