Cristiano Ronaldo has also scored 118 international goals for Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo missed out on a place in the FIFA FIFPRO Men’s World 11 for the first time since 2006 as Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema all made the team.

Ronaldo and Messi had both been included in the team for the last 15 years in a row.

However, Ronaldo, who left Manchester United to join Al Nassr in January, did not earn enough votes from his fellow professionals to earn a spot this time around.

Messi, who won The Best FIFA Men’s Player Award, was included along with Mbappe and Benzema, who were also nominated for the men’s award.

Manchester City’s Haaland earned a spot in the forward line after his brilliant scoring form over the last year.

The midfield is made up of Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Casemiro – who won the Champions League with Real Madrid last year before leaving to join Manchester United – and Luka Modric, who has enjoyed immense success with Real since joining from Tottenham in 2012.

The defence features Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk, PSG’s Achraf Hakimi, and Joao Cancelo, who left Man City in January to join Bayern Munich on loan.

Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois is in goal, having enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 season as Real won La Liga and the Champions League.
