Ghanaian actor, farmer and Member of Parliament Elect for Ayawaso West Wuguon, John Dumelo has been left heartbroken by the passing of his beloved father, Engineer John William Kudzo Anato-Dumelo Snr, at the age of 75. Dumelo shared the devastating news in an emotional tribute earlier today on his social media page.
In a heartfelt post, Dumelo revealed that just hours before his father’s sudden demise, they spent quality time discussing various aspects of life, politics, farming, and business.
He also disclosed how his father gave him fatherly advice on his upcoming swearing-in ceremony, urging him to serve diligently in government.
“You called me several times yesterday to come see you,” Dumelo wrote. “We sat on the bed and spoke at length about politics, life, farming, and business—and, of course, we gossiped. We spoke about my swearing-in in three days’ time, and you told me specifically to serve diligently in government.”
Tragically, just ten minutes after leaving his father’s side, Dumelo was informed that his father was unresponsive. Despite rushing him to the hospital, Engineer John William Kudzo Anato-Dumelo Snr. could not be revived.
Expressing his deep sorrow, Dumelo penned: “Thanks for being my father, thanks for being my best friend, thanks for being my number one cheerleader, and thanks for everything you did for me. Say hi to mum for us all… we will miss you. Rest in perfect peace, Engineer John William Kudzo Anato-Dumelo Snr.”
