In a display of unity and concern for the state of football in Ghana, passionate citizens took to the streets on February 14, 2024, for the #SaveGhanaFootball demonstration advocating for the improvement and revival of Ghanaian football.

The movement gathered individuals of various ages, professions, and genders, reflecting a widespread desire for change.

The demonstrators commenced their march from the iconic Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, winding their way through the city streets, ultimately converging at the Black Stars Square.

The initiative was spearheaded by sports journalists, including notable figure Saddick Adams, who led the diverse group in presenting their petition to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

The protesters voiced their collective call for significant reforms in the governance of Ghanaian football, asserting that the current state of the sport is deteriorating due to issues related to poor leadership and inadequate structural foundations. Their shared aim is to foster a positive transformation within the country’s football industry.

During the demonstration, the crowd showcased a sea of red and black colours on their shirts, symbolising their solidarity for the cause. The protesters held placards adorned with diverse inscriptions, all emphasizing the urgent need for reforms to ensure a brighter future for Ghanaian football.

The impactful event has been captured in a series of photos, documenting the impassioned plea for change as Ghanaians stand united in their quest to #SaveGhanaFootball.
