Former Black Satellites head coach Sellas Tetteh has received support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports to help him deal with his ailing health condition.

The 66-year-old tactician led Ghana to win their first U-20 World Cup trophy 14 years ago in Egypt after the Satellites beat Brazil on penalties in the final.

Sellas Tetteh, who has recently been battling with illness revealed that the government’s promise to reward him for winning the prestigious trophy was yet to be fulfilled even after many years of reminders.

The Sports ministry finally responded by paying a visit to coach Tetteh at his residence in Accra on Monday and donated to him an amount of GHc 50,000.

The former coach of Sierra Leone and Rwanda had earlier received a cash donation from Andre Ayew who captained his title winning side.

Sellas Tetteh has had spells at Liberty Professionals as well as the Ghana U-17 national team, the Black Starlets.

He returned to the Black Satellites in 2013  and led them to a third place finish at the World Cup in Turkey.
