Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo scored his first goal for Bournemouth, securing a well-deserved 4-1 win over Leeds United in the English Premier League.

Bournemouth took control of the game with two first-half goals from Jefferson Lerma before Patrick Bamford’s header pulled one back for Leeds.

After the break, Dominic Solanke scored again to restore Bournemouth’s two-goal lead, and Semenyo sealed the victory after coming off the bench in the final minutes of the game.

Semenyo, who joined Bournemouth from Bristol City, was brought on with only seven minutes remaining. But he made the most of his opportunity, finishing off a great pass from Jaidon Anthony to score in stoppage time, putting the game beyond any doubt.

The 23- year old’s first goal is expected to boost his confidence after making his 11th appearance despite missing the previous three games and starting mostly from the bench since his arrival in January.

With the victory at the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth moved closer to securing their Premier League status, while Leeds’ relegation fears increased.

The victory means the Cherries are 10 points clear of the danger zone in the 13th position with four matches to end the season.
