Dancehall Commando hitmaker Shatta Wale may face jail time for continually attacking Afro-Dancehall star Stonebwoy and referring to him as disabled.
Shatta Wale known in real life as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr has been insulting Stonebwoy for the past week following the latter’s refusal to perform alongside him at the annual Salahfest. Shatta Wale’s favourite insult has been to call Stonebwoy a cripple.
Reacting to the ongoing feud, a Ghanaian lawyer has stated that attacking a disabled person using their disability is a crime that could warrant a 3-month jail sentence.
The lawyer noted that the Disability Act has provisions to prevent such attacks on individuals with disabilities.
The Ghana Federation of Disability Organisations (GFD) has so far condemned the offensive comments made by Shatta Wale towards Stonebwoy.
