President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Okraku has charged the Black Stars players to show patriotism and desire against Sudan.
The senior national team takes on the Falcons in the third and fourth games of the 2025 Afcon qualifiers and Okraku has urged the players to win the two matches to revive their hopes of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following a disappointing start to the qualifiers.
Ghana suffered a 1-0 loss to Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi and then followed it up with a draw against Niger in Morocco in the opening games of the qualifiers.
During a meeting with the team on Tuesday, the head coah of the FA Kurt Okraku expressed his disappointment at the team’s dismal start to the 2025 Afcon qualifiers.
“The honeymoon period is gone. It’s time to show aggression, it’s time to show desire, it’s time to show the willingness to go the extra mile for Ghana,”
Ghana sits third with 1 point after two games and anything short of victory in the games against Sudan would make Ghana’s qualifying chances precarious.
The first match against Sudan is set for Thursday at the Accra Sports Stadium, which has received late approval from CAF, followed by the return leg in Libya on Monday.
