Singer Charly Boy has penned down a heartfelt epistle to celebrate his father, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa’s, posthumous birthday.

In the message, Charly Boy relishes the time he spent with his lawyer father and shares some of the valuable life lessons he learned from him. He writes:

“I was raised on an overdose of strong morals, values, integrity, and spirituality. As a former Principal in your younger days, you always were a natural-born teacher. You taught me to lead a good moral life, to be mindful and aware of my thoughts and actions, and to keep developing wisdom and understanding in any situation I find myself in.”

Charly Boy also recalls his endless conversations with his father about the injustices and inequalities in Nigeria, and how his father taught him that true happiness is not found in wealth, but in understanding the true meaning of life.

He concludes his message by thanking his father for teaching him the true meaning of life and expressing his love and respect for him.

Charly Boy, born Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, on 19 June 1950, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, television presenter, actor, publisher, activist and producer
