Veteran boxing promoter and matchmaker Solomon Otoo Lartey has endorsed Rabbon Dodoo for the presidency of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), describing him as the most qualified candidate to lead the sport and address the challenges facing boxers.
Speaking on Omashi TV’s The Big Fight Night, Lartey said Dodoo’s background as a former boxer and his experience serving on the GBA board under past administrations make him the ideal person to steer Ghana boxing forward. He expressed confidence that Dodoo would prioritize the welfare of fighters and provide the leadership needed to revive the sport.
Lartey, who has earned recognition in Senegal and London for his achievements as a promoter and matchmaker, lamented what he described as a leadership vacuum in Ghana boxing.
He also highlighted the contribution of Bukom to the sport, noting that the community has produced many of Ghana’s world champions and continues to nurture talented young boxers.
The promoter further raised concerns about the limited opportunities available for female professional boxers in Ghana.
