Popular Ghanaian dancer, Endurance Grand has disclosed that demand for sexual favours by some football officials forced her to give up on her football career for dance.
Born to a Ghanaian father and a Nigerian mother, Endurance played at professional level for Anlo Ladies and some league teams in Nigeria but could not make it to the National level because she refused to succumb to the bidding of some officials who demanded sex to get her to the top.
“I faced a lot of challenges from coaches and higher authorities who made advances towards me”, Endurance recounted her struggles on the path to success on the Delay Show.
”There were some who also wanted to get into my pants to get me to the top and that wasn’t me”, she added.
She further disclosed that the sexual demands were made at a time she was doing well at the game.
The dancing queen is however not doing badly in her new career as she has already performed on some of the biggest stages in the country including the VGMA, Ghana Football Awards, and most recently, The Global Citizen Festival.
To add to that impressive feat, she has also worked with brands like AirtelTigo and Dark & Lovely.
The persistent demand for sexual favours from women in exchange for job opportunities has become a social canker that continues to plague our society.
This distressing practice, driven by abuse of power and gender inequality, highlights the harrowing reality faced by countless women who find themselves trapped in a web of exploitation and compromised integrity.
