Asante Kotoko’s newly appointed head coach Eric Tinkler says he is proud to begin a new chapter with the club and is determined to guide the Porcupine Warriors back to success.

The South African tactician has been handed the responsibility of leading Kotoko into the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season following his official appointment as the club’s head coach.

Reacting to his appointment, Tinkler described Kotoko as one of Africa’s most respected clubs and admitted it was an honour to be entrusted with the role.

“I am honoured and excited to join one of Africa’s most storied football institutions. Asante Kotoko’s rich history, passion for success and ambition for development is not hidden in Africa,” he said.

The former Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City coach believes the club has the foundation to compete for major honours and is looking forward to working with the players and technical team.

“I look forward to working with the players, staff, and management to build a team that can compete and win, both at home and on the continental stage. I feel proud to be associated with this great club at this historical moment.”

Asante Kotoko supporters will now be hoping Tinkler’s experience and winning mentality can help the club return to the summit of Ghanaian football.
