Actor and self-styled Pastor Yul Edochie has caused a social media frenzy by advising fans to spend their savings instead of saving for the future.
In a post on Instagram, Edochie encouraged followers to “chop their money” and share some with those in need, emphasising that death is inevitable and someone else will spend it if they don’t.
Edochie’s comments have received mixed reactions, with some criticising his approach as reckless and irresponsible, while others see it as a call to live in the present and share with others.
Yul expanded on his views, stating that life is not as serious as people make it out to be and that everyone will eventually die.
He emphasised the importance of enjoying one’s life and sharing with others, rather than hoarding wealth.
“We’re all going to die. It’s only a matter of time. e go reach everybody. Life is not that serious. Na we just dey take am too serious. That money wey you dey hide, bring am out, chop am well well. Share some with other people. If not, you go still leave am die,” he said.
