Renowned American musician and songwriter Stevie Wonder has been conferred Ghanaian citizenship by President Akufo-Addo at a ceremony held at the Jubilee House in Accra.
The legendary artiste, born Stevland Morris but famously known as Stevie Wonder, took the Oath of Allegiance and was presented with his Certificate of Citizenship, formalizing his status as a Ghanaian citizen.
It comes three years after he announced his decision to move to Ghana.
Today, as he celebrates his 74th birthday, Stevie Wonder stands not only as a musical icon but also as a citizen of Ghana, a country he has embraced with open arms.
