Ghanaian music icon Stonebwoy will be honoured at the 2025 Howard University Homecoming Takeover, scheduled for October 23 in Washington, D.C.
The event is presented by The Warner Music/Blavatnik Center for Music Business, in partnership with Warner Music Group, 300 Entertainment, and Atlantic Records.
Stonebwoy’s recognition comes in celebration of his pioneering role in globalising African music and for embodying the “One of One” theme of Howard University’s 2025 Homecoming a concept that highlights uniqueness, innovation, and trailblazing excellence.
According to organisers, the award underscores the institution’s mission to elevate Black and African diaspora voices in the global music industry while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through Howard’s music business programmes.

Stonebwoy has been instrumental in bringing Afrobeats and Afro-dancehall to the international stage, blending genres seamlessly while staying true to his Ghanaian roots.
