Entertainment journalist, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has warned the embattled Chief Executive Officer of the defunct gold firm, Menzgold, to stop playing a mind game on his aggrieved customers.
He cautioned Nana Appiah Mensah alias NAM 1 to note that the Menzgold issue is not a joke, thus he should desist from making incendiary posts or communiqués that will further infuriate the already incensed customers.
He advised NAM 1 to treat the issue with absolute seriousness, reminding him of how his ponzi scheme has caused some of the customers to lose their fortune, properties and lives.
Arnold gave this admonition while reacting to NAM 1’s recent release on a verification card he asked the affected customers to purchase from him at a cost of GHC 650 before he refunds their monies.
“I think Nana Appiah should have the realization that the Ghanaians who were there in 2014, 2015 & 2016 are not the same Ghanaians today. Now, we are very enlightened and vigilant; that’s how come you realize the pushback, the protestation, the angst that followed his release.
“The Menzgold issue is a critical issue. People lost their lives, jobs, houses and so forth…For me, I think he should be very careful and whosever is advising him should also be very careful because the Menzgold matter is not something to joke about. People are angry!”, he bellowed during UTV’s Saturday’s entertainment programme “United Showbiz”.
Arnold also slammed the Attorney General for not accelerating the prosecution of NAM 1.
“Let’s accord the matter with some levels of seriousness. To the Attorney General, how can the man be in court since 2019 without prosecution? How is that possible? And he’s been in court for 36 times, I mean that is not fair enough”, he expressed his disappointment.
