Kelvin Alphous would be crowned the 2022 SWAG Badminton Player of the Year, according to a nominations list released by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana.
Alphous, 20, started competing at international events in 2018 after being scouted from the Central Region and has been arguably Ghana’s topmost badminton player ever since.
With the calendar year, the youngster recorded his highest ever global ranking when he made a ground-breaking reach by placing 692 out of 1000 players on the global rankings (November 2022).
Leading Ghanaian mining firm Adamus Resources Limited has become a joint headline sponsor to the 47th SWAG Awards.
They join MTN Ghana who have been long-standing sponsors of the SWAG Awards. The Awards comes off at the Accra International Conference Center on January 28, 2023.
