Streets of Tema West and its environs erupted in joy and excitement as supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) celebrated the party’s landslide victory in the presidential and parliamentary elections.
According to the official results, John Dramani Mahama emerged as President-elect, pulling 48,327 votes, representing 62.96 percent. His closest contender, Mahamudu Bawumia, secured 27,049 votes, representing 35.24 percent.
In the parliamentary elections, Lawyer James Enu won the seat as Member of Parliament-elect with 49,225 votes, representing 64.06 percent. His opponent, Dennis Amfo Sefah, garnered 27,618 votes, representing 35.94 percent.
The total votes cast were 76,843, with 448 rejected ballots. Lawyer James Enu expressed his heartfelt gratitude to his supporters, thanking them for their overwhelming support.
He said the NDC’s victory in Tema West is a testament to the party’s strong grassroots support and its ability to mobilize voters.
