Former Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has expressed confidence in Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The experienced tactician believes the mood within the national team camp is positive and expects Queiroz to build a disciplined side capable of competing against the best teams in the tournament.
“The energy in the Black Stars squad for the World Cup is marvellous, and Carlos Queiroz will do his best to organise the team, stay compact defensively, and avoid conceding goals in the tournament,” Dramani said.
Dramani’s comments carry significant weight given his vast experience in Ghanaian football and his involvement with the Black Stars technical team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
His endorsement comes as Ghana continue their final preparations for the tournament in the United States. The Black Stars recently relocated from Cardiff after spending several days training at Dragon Park and playing out a 1-1 draw with Wales in a friendly match.
With the proposed friendly against Honduras no longer taking place, it appears increasingly unlikely that Ghana will play another match before the start of the competition.
The Black Stars will be making their fifth appearance at the FIFA World Cup and have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.
Ghana open their campaign against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field before taking on England on June 23 at Gillette Stadium. Their final group-stage fixture will be against Croatia on June 27 as they seek a place in the knockout stages.
