Third suspect in Immigration Officer’s murder case dead

A third suspect linked to the murder of 38year old Immigration Officer, Stephen King Amoah, has reportedly died after a short illness.

Confirming the development to GhanaWeekend, the deceased officer’s brother, Kwasi Amoako, said he was informed by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) handling the case.

“Yesterday, we went to court and I can confirm that the third suspect is dead. The police CID in charge of the case confirmed it. We thank God—not because someone has died—but because it seems my late brother is seeking justice for himself,” he said.

The news comes a day after the Adabraka District Court adjourned the case to September 4, 2025, to allow further investigations.

During proceedings on Friday,August,22,2025, the prime suspect, Bright Aweh, and the second accused, Thomas Ziga, also known as Nii Dzaase, were present. The third suspect, who had reportedly been unwell, was absent. Details surrounding his death remain sketchy.

Meanwhile, the funeral of the slain officer has been postponed following the ban on funerals in the Ashanti Region until after the burial of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III.
