Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been excluded from the club’s 29-man squad for their upcoming pre-season tour of the United States.
However, the club clarified that his absence is solely due to fitness concerns and they anticipate his return to the squad next week.
Partey, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020, has recently been the subject of transfer speculation, with interest reportedly coming from teams in Saudi Arabia and Italy.
Juventus, in particular, are said to be keen on acquiring the services of the Ghanaian midfielder ahead of the forthcoming season.
In a statement on their official website, Arsenal confirmed that “the players who are not part of the squad will be working hard on their fitness and/or recovering from injury.”
The Gunners will commence their tour by travelling to Washington, where they are scheduled to face the MLS All-Stars.
Subsequently, they will head to New Jersey for a match against Manchester United before concluding their tour with a fixture against Barcelona in Los Angeles.
