Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia returned to his hometown, Walewale, on Friday, to a rapturous reception.
In what can be classified as the biggest endorsement of Bawumia’s presidential bid, thousands trooped out of their homes and surrounding villages to show their love and support.
Accompanied by party stalwarts including Minister of Finance, Mohammed Amin Adam, Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif and others, Bawumia was a giving a rousing reception while he entered the town and rode to nearby community, Langbisi.
At Langbisi, he paid a visit to the community stakeholders before cutting sod for an astro turf which is lauded by the youth of the community.
From Langbisi, Dr. Bawumia returned to Walewale for his main events of the day, commissioning the Walewale Watermelon Factory and a mosque in the community.
At a rally, Dr. Bawumia got the crowd charged as he introduced the incumbent MP, Hajia Lariba Abudu and the NPP’s new parliamentary candidate Dr. Kabiru Mahama to signify unity within the party.
Dr. Bawumia also listed a number of great projects the NPP has done in the North and the country at large.
He urged the electorates to vote massively for him to beocme President in 2025 so as to continue the government’s good works to advance Ghana’s progress.
