A non-profit organization, Tanko Foundation has organized a peace concert at Weta, in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region to drum home the need for peaceful elections.
The Foundation believes entertainment could be an effective activity to sensitize the youths in particular about the essence of peace during and after the December 7 elections.
Several youths in the Volta Region attended the peace concert as part of efforts to promote national cohesion.
The crowd were entertained by artists such as Praye, Keche, Kenny Ice, Agbesi and many up-and-coming artists in the Volta Region.
The enthusiastic crowd sang along to the lyrics as the artists churned out their hit songs amidst amusement. Afro Dancehall Musician, Stonebwoy was the headline artist.
Stonebwoy crowned the concert with an energetic performance of his popular hits such as “Manordzi”, Overlord, Psalm 23, and “Jejereje” among others.
He intermittently advised the youths to stay away from violence and crimes.
He also urged them to strive to achieve their dreams and aspirations with hard work and determination.
The Chief Executive Officer of Tanko Foundation, Gabriel Kwamigah Atople pledged to support talented upcoming artists in the region to reach greater heights.
He entreated the youth not to engage in divisive and violent acts in their communities during and after the December 7 polls.
As part of its youth development objectives, Tanko Foundation intends to periodically organise activities such as concerts to create awareness of the importance of peace and harmony in the country.
