A Minister of the Gospel and President of the Up and Shine Foundation, Rev. Dr. Richard Nii Amartey Adesah, has commended three Assembly men in the Nsawam Municipality for heroically stopping robbers from stealìng railway wood.
In a statement of encouragement to the three Assembly men, Rev Dr. Adesah reiterated the need for Ghanaians to emulate such patriotic acts to ensure the progress of the country.
“We all need to emulate such nationalistic acts to ensure our progress. The situation where national assets were seen as no one’s property, should be a thing of the past,” he stated.
The Assembly man of Fante Town Electoral area, Abdul-Lateef Saeed, that of Abaase Electoral Area, Iddrissu Musah and Adjenase Piem Electoral area, Amegbo Raphael, foiled an attempt by some robbers to steal wood from the railway lines passing through the Nsawam township, after laying ambush deep into the night.
The robbers abandoned the looted wood from the railways and bolted when the Assembly men confronted them and later raised alarm, attracting residents to the scene.
The police subsequently came in to take control of the situation.
This heroic and patriotic act has drawn the commendation of Rev. Dr. Richard Nii Amartey Adesah, the immediate past President of the Federation of Africa Amputee Football (FAAF), who believes it is a remarkable show of love for the nation.
“These are the things we should be encouraging so we can regain the days of the past where Ghanaians were ready to defend the nation at all times to the peril of their lives,” Rev. Dr. Adesah pointed out, adding that, the children and youth of today need to learn from it.
He called on the nation to reward such persons to serve as examples for others.
