Black Stars held their first training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday ahead of their crucial encounter with Madagascar in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
With the exception of Thomas Partey who is expected to join the team on Tuesday, the 24 other players were all present in camp as the team engaged in their first training session which involved light work and some drills.
However, Bechem United forward Hafiz Konkoni who was handed a late call-up was kept on the sidelines due to fatigue. The forward played in a highly intense game on the final Ghana Premier League day against Aduana Stars on Sunday.

Also, Auxerre left-back Gideon Mensah was not available for the session due to an injury which is believed to be a minor one.
The team is expected to continue with preparations until Thursday and depart Ghana on Friday to Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar where the teams will battle on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
Ghana will go into the encounter knowing that a win will secure a place in the 2023 AFCON to be held in Ivory Coast. They lead group E with eight points followed by the Central African Republic and Angola who have seven and five points respectively.
Madagascar are bottom with one point.
