A vehicle in the campaign convoy of New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Organiser hopeful Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover has been involved in an accident on the Dambai-Tamale road, Asaase Radio has reported.
The incident occurred while the campaign team was travelling through the Northern Region as part of Mr Titus-Glover’s nationwide tour to engage NPP delegates ahead of the party’s National Organiser election.
According to Asaase Radio, the vehicle sustained significant damage in the accident. However, there is no official information yet on the number of people who were travelling in the vehicle or whether anyone sustained injuries.
The cause of the accident is also yet to be established.
Sources close to the campaign told Asaase Radio that emergency responders and security personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the incident to assist those involved.
The convoy reportedly stopped temporarily before continuing its journey after the situation was brought under control.
Mr Titus-Glover was not in the affected vehicle and is said to be safe.
His campaign engagements are expected to continue, although the schedule could change depending on further developments.
The campaign team had not issued a detailed statement on the incident at the time of reporting.
Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, a former Member of Parliament for Tema East and former Deputy Minister for Transport, is seeking the support of NPP delegates to become the party’s next National Organiser.
