Veteran Ghanaian journalist Afia Pokuaa, widely known as Vim Lady, has fired back At Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, also called Opambour, after he threatened to curse her over her comments about him.
The feud began when Opambour questioned the usefulness of the Ghana Card during a church service attended by former President John Mahama. Vim Lady criticized his remarks, calling them “shallow-minded,” which prompted Opambour’s warning.
Unfazed by his threats, Vim Lady responded in a social media video, stating, “Try me and you will see.” She reflected on her two-decade career in journalism, emphasizing her resilience. “I’ve been in this profession for 20 years. We’ve faced challenges, including being beaten by President Kufuor’s bodyguards, and we survived. So why should I be afraid of you?” she said.
Vim Lady also dismissed Opambour’s accusations, asserting that she merely critiqued his comments and didn’t condemn him personally. “You raised a legitimate question about the Ghana Card but didn’t criticize anything. Why fight me over this?” she questioned.
Addressing his threats, she highlighted her strong spiritual foundation, adding, “Where I come from, we have deep spiritual roots. You can’t just threaten me and expect me to be scared.”
