Swiss-Ghanaian midfielder Tyron Owusu endured a nightmare start as Luzern were beaten 3-0 by Sion at Stade de Tourbillon. The match changed almost immediately when VAR upgraded an early challenge and Owusu was sent off after just three minutes, leaving Luzern to play the rest of the game with 10 men.Sion took full advantage of the extra space and struck first through Donat Rrudhani in the ninth minute, before controlling the contest with long spells of pressure. Luzern tried to respond through Matteo Di Giusto, Oscar Kabwit and Lars Villiger, but Sions defence and goalkeeper Anthony Racioppi kept them out.The hosts made the points safe after the break. Theo Berdayes doubled the lead in the 70th minute, and Josias Lukembila added a third seven minutes later to finish Luzern off. The defeat leaves Luzern with plenty to improve as they regroup quickly for their next league test. They now turn their attention to a home meeting with St Gallen in the Super League on August 9, a chance to bounce back and reset after a difficult afternoon.
