A heart-warming moment unfolded at Sekoti Primary School in the Upper East Region when Lawyer Lamtiig Apanga, a respected legal practitioner, inspired a Primary Six pupil to dream of becoming a lawyer.
During a visit to the school, Lawyer Apanga invited one of the pupils, Zebre Daniel to the front of the gathering and dressed him in his lawyer’s wig and gown.
The gesture, meant to demonstrate how legal practitioners appear in court, instantly transformed the young boy into the centre of attention. Filled with excitement, the pupil beamed with pride while his classmates cheered and applauded his new look.
Lawyer Apanga shared some words with the pupils: “I encourage you to be bold, disciplined, and focused on your studies. I’m reminding you that every great professional starts with a dream.”
Mr. Apanga said he hopes the brief courtroom demonstration would plant a lasting ambition in the minds of the children, especially those aspiring to join the legal profession in the future.
The visit formed part of the lawyer’s outreach initiative, during which he donated exercise books and essential stationery to the pupils. He noted that many children in rural communities struggle with learning materials, and he felt compelled to contribute to their academic journey.
Headteacher of Sekoti Primary School, Abarike Sumaila, expressed gratitude for the support, saying the donation and mentorship had motivated the pupils and boosted their confidence.
As the young “lawyer” walked back to his classroom, still smiling, it was clear that the moment had sparked a dream—one that may someday lead him into a real courtroom.
