Antoine Semenyo fulfilled a young Manchester City fan’s request on the opening week of the new Premier League season after gifting him his jersey at the end of the match against AFC Bournemouth at the Etihad.City came from behind to beat Semenyo’s former club following late goals from defenders Marc Guehi and Josko Gvardiol. The visitors who were on the brink of a historic victory at Etihad had opened the scoring through Marcus Tarvenier in the first half but Semenyo and his teammates ensured new manager Enzo Maresca got off to a winning start.During the game, a young City fan was spotted with a ‘can I have your (Semenyo) shirt, please?’ banner, and the Ghanaian forward made sure his wish was granted.In a viral video, Semenyo is seen at the end of the match climbing to the fans to gift the young fan his shirt, leaving the supporter in tears. The gesture has been celebrated across social media.Meanwhile, Semenyo in an interview with CNN Sport disclosed his dream of being a role model for young kids.”Its a dream of mine to have kids looking up to me, following in my footsteps. It gives me more motivation to keep going,” he said.Although Semenyo could not score or provide against his former club, he lasted the entire duration of the come back victory. A game his manager describes as a complete performance.The spirit was fantastic, said Maresca. Its a game that we deserved to win. A game probably you dont need to win to last eight minutes for the amount of chances we had.
Before they scored they had two or three chances. We miss and when they score and you miss it becomes more complicated.
In the second half they didnt have a shot on goal until the 80th minute so I think we deserved it.
