The Volta Regional Football Association (RFA) has concluded its 24th Ordinary Congress, formally bringing the 2025/26 football season to an end and beginning preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.

The annual gathering, the Associations highest decision-making body, was chaired by Volta RFA Chairman Daniel Agbogah. It brought together football stakeholders from across the region to consider issues affecting the administration and development of the sport.

In his address, Agbogah called for greater unity among those involved in football in the Volta Region. He said a collective approach would be essential to maintaining the effective running of the game while supporting its continued growth and development.

The Volta RFA chairman also recognised the contribution of former chairman Francis Dogbatse, thanking him for his ongoing support since leaving office. Agbogah said continued cooperation among stakeholders remained important to the Associations efforts to advance football in the region.

GFA reaffirms grassroots commitment

Daasebre Adu-Asare, Coordinator of the Regional Football Associations, represented Ghana Football Association President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku at the Congress.

He reiterated the Presidents commitment to developing football at grassroots level and assured delegates that the GFA would continue supporting initiatives designed to strengthen the game across Ghanas regions.

Adu-Asare placed particular emphasis on grassroots football, where the foundations for sustainable development are established. The GFAs continued backing, he said, would support work aimed at improving the game across the regions.

The Congress gave the Volta RFA and its stakeholders the opportunity to review the previous season and set their priorities for the new campaign. Its conclusion also marked a renewed collective commitment to delivering a productive and successful 2026/27 football season.
