Minority Leader in Ghana’s Parliament, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has charged the people of Mankessim to vote out the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia NPP government and send a clear message to all politicians that the electorate cannot be taken for granted.

He said the upcoming election will determine the destiny of the country which is currently headed in the wrong direction.

Blaming the ruling NPP government for destroying Ghana and running the country’s economy aground thereby inflicting hardship on Ghanaians, he warned that Ghanaians should not reward such terrible performance.

According to Dr. Forson, the NPP government has embarked on a borrowing spree, taking Ghana’s debt stock to a staggering GHS761 billion with little to show for. That aside, he accused the government for taking peoples’ hard-earned investments through the debt exchange program, describing it as an act of wickedness that must be punished by the electorate.

Dr. Ato Forson was speaking at a stakeholders forum at Mankessim in the Mfantseman constituency as part of his campaign tour of the Central region.

Among those present were leaders of the Christian and Muslim communities, teachers, traders and artisans.

He urged the gathering to support President Mahama’s vision for the country, assuring that the NDC will implement transformational policies to support micro and small businesses and artisans.

He reiterated President Mahama’s pledge to establish a modern market for Mankessim similar to the ultra-modern Kotokuraba market in Cape Coast.
