
Black Queens coach Kim Lar Bjorkegren has disclosed his ultimate objective of qualifying for the FIFA Women’s World Cup ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations 2026 in Morocco.The top four sides from the tournament will represent Africa at the Women’s World Cup in Brazil next year.Ghana’s Black Queens have not qualified for the World Cup since 2007, when they finished bottom of Group C in China.The Swedish trainer wants to end the Black Queens’ World Cup drought by ensuring the team becomes a top four side on the continent.”When I took over the team one and a half year ago, my expectation is to bring back Ghana to a top four team in Africa,” he told PFAG.”If we do that, I am pretty sure sooner or later we will win. Top 4 is going to give us the qualification to the World Cup, that is going to be huge,” he added.The Black Queens are currently in Morocco preparing for WAFCON 2026.The team defeated Ivory Coast in a friendly on Tuesday afternoon, courtesy a Sharon Sampson strike. They will next face the Super Falcons before the tournament begins next week.Ghana have been drawn in Group D alongside Cameroon, Cape Verde and Mali.
