The Black Maidens were hoping to build on their opening match day 4-1 thrashing of Burkina Faso. It was the Flamingos who took the lead just after the hour mark before adding the second on the nick of the interval. Back from the break, Ghana continued to match Nigeria in all departments and reduced the deficit courtesy captain Seidatu Wahab, her second in the competition. On the 70th minute, Nigeria restored their two-goal lead when No.10 shirt girl dribbled past goalkeeper Josephine Nyanfule to slot the ball home. Nigeria struck their fourth goal from a free-kick from 25 yards which flew past the hapless Nyanfule and on the 90th minute mark substitute Gloria Ameaa delivered a low shot from inside the box to halve the scoreline.Ghanas next game is against Togo on Monday, 21 September 2026.
