The head coach of Ghana’s U-17 team, Laryea Kingston, has emphasized that his team will not underestimate Benin in their upcoming match.
The Black Starlets are set to face Benin in their final Group A match tonight at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
After a dominant 5-1 victory over the Ivory Coast in their opening game, the Black Starlets are focused on securing their place in the next round.
Kingston has assured fans that, despite being favourites to win, the team will approach the match with caution and respect for their opponents.
“In football, you don’t need to underrate your opponent,” Kingston told the Ghana FA website.
“We’re favourites and we know that, but that will not make us complacent. We have everything to play for because all that Ghanaians are expecting from us is qualification to the AFCON.
“We’ll respect our opponents but keep to our principles,” he added.
The eagerly awaited match is scheduled to kick off at 18:00 GMT.
