A former Central Regional Minister and a member of the New Patriotic Party, Kwamena Duncan, has advised teachers not to give the former President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, a listening ear.
According to the former minister, Mr. Mahama referred to all teachers as thieves.
This statement comes in the wake of the recent WASSCE results published by the West African Examination Council.
According to the former president, the results came out better because the majority of the students were allowed to cheat.
“In many places, they let the children cheat. You go to places and the teachers are conninving with the students to cheat. The effect will be seen later,” John Mahama said.
In a rebuttal, Kwamena Duncan has opined that, during the Covid era, President Nana Akufo-Addo put in trangent measures in making sure that Ghanaian students got the best of education.
Kwamena Duncan believed, the NDC led by Mr. Mahama were “kicking Ghanaian parents against Akufo-Addo and his government.”
He further added that the former President did not only denigrate the hardwork of the students but went further to call Ghanaian teachers ‘thieves’ for allegedly conniving with the school children to cheat.
Speaking on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’ Morning show, he asserted that the denigration by the former President on teachers will be on them for a long time until the teachers and teacher unions purge themselves.
