Legendary Ghanaian songstress, Mzbel has said that she is sitting on a bombshell that could implicate the entire country if she were to write a book about her life experiences.
In an interview with UTV’s United Showbiz, the ’16yrs’ hitmaker said that she has had many experiences in her life that would be “sad” to share, but that she would be forced to name names if she were to write a book.
“We all have stories to tell,” she said. “If I write a story and name names, the whole of Ghana will be implicated.”
Known in real life as Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, Mzbel specifically cited the sexual assault she suffered at the hands of some KNUST students in 2005 as an example of the kind of experiences she would be forced to share if she wrote a book.
“From the time I had a show in Tech (KNUST) and what patrons of the show did to me; the counselling and therapy I had to be subjected to; the subsequent attempts of armed robbers on me; how the media reported the sad incident at Tech; and how some people wanted to take advantage of the situation…We have a story to tell but we won’t finish it. The whole of Ghana will be in there,” she said.
Mzbel is one of Ghana’s best-known female singers, and her electrifying performances have enthralled patrons for many years.
