The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2024 general elections, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said that God has several ways of arranging things.
He says in relation to the election results that it is impossible for humans to always understand God’s ways.
To that end, he has told the rank and file of the party to be united despite the defeat.
He observed that analysis of the results from the 2020 and 2024 elections showed that the NPP handed power to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the just-ended polls.
Dr Bawumia was speaking when the party members of the Korle Klottey paid a courtesy call to him on Tuesday, December 10.
“Everybody should calm down, I see many people in pain. I have an abiding belief in God, I know you don’t question God’s arrangement, his ways are not our ways. He arranges things in ways you won’t understand but sometimes it is for your own good.
“Don’t start blaming people in pain, blame games will destroy us, let us come together because this is self-inflicted. We need to come together and work towards 2028, once we are united by the grace of God we will win 2028,” Dr Bawumia said.
He added “Stop the blame game, let us look at the future. At this point, we are looking at building the parry again., It is not about individual ambition, let us build the party.”
He added “This is not over we have lost the battle but not the war. We handed it over to the NDC, but they didn’t win it, because the figures they got in 2020 didn’t change in 2024, ours just dropped by 40%. the analysis is simple, I want us all to be united, united we stand divided we fall.”
