The firm behind the arrest of Ghanaian musician Black Sherif, Cruise People Limited has released a statement explaining the circumstances of his arrest.
The statement said that Cruise People Limited had engaged Black Sherif to perform at the second edition of its musical cruise, Afro Cruise Jam, on August 19, 2023, in Greece.
The first edition of the cruise, held last year, featured Grammy-award winning artist Gramps Morgan and Abrantie Amakye Dede.
According to the statement, the firm had agreed to pay Black Sherif $40,000 to perform at the cruise where an initial payment of $20,000 was made to him and was supposed to record a video confirming his participation in the event.
However, Black Sherif failed to honor his commitment to record the video.They added that their lawyers even wrote to the management of the musician requesting for reason for the action as far back in May but neither the artiste nor his management are yet to respond to them to date.
The explained extensively that this informed their decision to report the issue to the police for them to take drastic actions against the famous rapper.
