Dancehall King Shatta Wale slammed his eternal rival Stonebwoy after he expressed anger at being left out of an article on hiplife in Ghana written on the Grammys website.
The article, which traced the history of hiplife in Ghanaian music, mentioned the names of many pioneering artists including Shatta Wale (Bandana).
However, Stonebwoy, who is not a hiplife artist, was not mentioned.
Despite not being a hiplife artist, Stonebwoy was unhappy and attacked the Grammys over their article.
Who ever wrote this article is interestingly missing THE NAME @stonebwoy
.@RecordingAcad Do Due Diligence before you publish half dozed articles aiming to capture the true image of the State of the Ghanaian Sound. https://t.co/uWzvurB3uv pic.twitter.com/NDqZgRqaJs— 1GAD (@stonebwoy) August 23, 2024
His attack has led to social media users slamming him for being too pompous and arrogant.
Shatta Wale also jumped in to mock Stonebwoy, writing on X (formerly Twitter): “How are you gonna demand a shoutout in a hiplife article when you didn’t even get the memo back then? Somebody needs to deflate this ego a bit—let’s give credit where it’s actually due! @stonebwoy, we need less ‘big head’ and more facts!”
