Ghanaian winger Bernard Somuah Sarpong has left the shores of Ghana to join Spanish club Celta Vigo after switching from Asante Kotoko.

Somuah will begin with the club’s youth team, RC Celta Fortuna to continue his development at the club.

The 18-year-old joins the club on a season-long loan deal with an option for a permanent transfer at the end of the season.

The Spanish club’s decision to secure his services is a testament to his potential and the belief in his ability to make a positive impact at the professional level.

Celta Fortuna competes in the Primera Federacion Group 1, the third tier of Spanish football.

Before leaving Ghana, the talented winger met the playing body of Asante Kotoko to officially bid farewell.

“I thank everyone for the support and advice throughout my stay with Kotoko. It’s hurt that I am leaving but we have to give thanks to God. I thank the technical team and teammates as well”

Meanwhile, coach Prosper Narteh has expressed mixed feelings following the departure of the talented winger.

“I’m here on a mixed feeling. It’s sad and at the same time joyous because one of our own, Bernard Somuah as you are all aware has earned a contract and has to leave. The feeling is mixed. It’s a happy moment because he’s gotten the opportunity to go on greener pastures. He is leaving for Spain today”

“We have really enjoyed his company. In our last few games, you have scored some wonderful goals. So all these points to the fact that you were peaking and rising as youngster and out of that, scouts have seen you and have scouted you. We are happy as a team that you’ve this opportunity”
