Nigerian Afrobeat star Wizkid has finally released Morayo, his much-awaited fifth studio album.

The record, which was released on streaming services early Friday, pays homage to Wizkid’s late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who died in August 2023.

Songs like “Troubled Mind,” “Karamo,” “Kese (Dance),” “Bad Girl,” “Time,” “Piece of My Heart,” and “Pray” are among the 16 tracks on the album. Renowned performers including Asake, Brent Faiyaz, Jazmine Sullivan, Anaïs, and Tiakola are included in collaborations.

With hits like “Piece of My Heart” in October and “Kese (Dance)” in November, Wizkid—real name Ayodeji Balogun—had already hinted at the album. Wizkid, well-known for his worldwide successes and critically acclaimed albums, such as Made in Lagos and More Love, Less Ego, is still making a name for himself in the music business.

The singer’s debut album, Superstar, brought him international acclaim in 2011. Since then, he has earned multiple accolades, including a Grammy for his work on “Brown Skin Girl” with Beyoncé.

Morayo, a poignant project that combines Wizkid’s distinctive Afrobeats style with intensely personal themes, is now available for streaming.
