Southern zone champions Hasaacas Ladies will battle it out against Northern zone champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies for the Ghana Women’s Premier League title in a playoff final at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on June 8, 2024.

Hasaacas Ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies will be meeting in the playoff final for the fourth successive season, underscoring their supremacy in their respective zones every season. Their dominance on the local front has seen them represent Ghana in Africa on numerous occasions, with the most recent one seeing Ampem Darkoa go all the way in the semi-final stage of the CAF Women’s Champions League.

Hasaacas Ladies ticket to the playoff finals saw them bamboozle Faith Ladies in emphatic fashion by defeating them by 3:0 on Sunday, May 26, 2024, to become champions of the Southern Zone for the eighth time in the club’s history. This amazing run has continued for the last four seasons, including an impressive 2023–2024.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies, on the other hand, had some tough competition to deal with as they lost to Kumasi Sports Academy by a lone goal. The defeat didn’t prevent Ampem Darkoa from claiming their crown as champions of the Northern Zone after already clinching the trophy before heading into their final game against Kumasi Sports Academy.

With Ampem Darkoa Ladies winning the last two playoff final games against Hasaacas Ladies, expectations will mount for them to go in for a third straight win over their opponent. Hasaacas Ladies, knowing very well about their last two upsets in the final, will definitely put in their best performance to change the script this time around.

The winner of this mouth-watering encounter will represent Ghana at the WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in August 2024.
