 YIPS Ghana embarks on a CSR project in the Volta Region

The Association of Young Insurance Professionals – Ghana Chapter (YIPs-Ghana), in partnership with the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG), recently embarked on a   Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in the Volta Region as part of the CIIG Annual Educational Conference.

This impactful initiative saw a collaborating with the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) to promote pedestrian safety by educating drivers on the significance of zebra crossings and encouraging their consistent observance.

Notable among the speakers were Mr. Charles Dankyi Ansong (National Insurance Commission), Mr. Kofi Akoto (GM Akoto All Risk), Mr. Mawuli Zogbenu (PRO, National Insurance Commission), Mr. John Barnes, and Michael Osei Dickson, Sikapa Kofi Adjei (COO, PlanWell Insurance Brokers, Christian Hanson Agbenyegah (Risk Management and Advisory Services), Aseye Adzo Afordoanyi and Schneider Akomaning Boadu (COO, Hedge Risk Consult Ltd)

The purpose of this effort was to enhance driver awareness around pedestrian safety and to instil a culture of responsibility toward traffic regulations.

CIIG and YIPs-Ghana also extended their CSR initiative to Taviefe Senior High School, where they introduced students to fundamental concepts in insurance, focusing particularly on the importance of life insurance and financial security.

This visit aimed to foster early awareness of insurance benefits and establish a foundation of insurance literacy among the youth, equipping students to make informed financial decisions in the future.

The outreach included speeches from notable industry leaders who shared insights and knowledge with the students. Distinguished speakers included Mrs. Jackie Benyi, MD of Enterprise Life; Mr. Nashiru Iddrisu, MD of Hollard Life; Mr. Nana Yaw Osei, MD of Loyalty Insurance; Mr. Larry Jiagge, CEO of Risk Management and Advisory Services; Nana Dufie, MD of Goldstar Brokers; Mr. Shiabu Ali, MD of KEK Brokers and President of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ghana (IBAG); Mrs. Mercy Boampong, CEO of Serene Insurance; Mr. Alfred Davidson, MD of Alpha Brokers; Mr. Stephen Kwarteng-Yeboah, MD of Olea M&G; Mr. Solomon Lartey, President of CIIG; Mr. Joel Lartey, General Secretary of CIIG;  Mr. Lawrence Daniels, Country Director of YIPs-Ghana and PRO of CIIG and Yvette Anderson ( Financial; Controller of Yips Ghana.).

This initiative underscores CIIG and YIPs-Ghana’s commitment to community development, safety, and youth empowerment through education and industry engagement.
