Controversial social media commentator, Twene Jonas has lambasted former Black Stars player, Asamoah Gyan for accusing the NPP and Nana Addo of using his fame to garner votes for the 2024 general election.
Asamoah Gyan recently announced his decision to distance himself from the NPP, expressing dissatisfaction with the party’s leadership. Twene Jonas, known for his candid critiques, responded by accusing Gyan of acting out of self-interest.
During one of his live videos on social media, Twene Jonas accused Asamoah Gyan of being selfish. He added that Asamoah Gyan was looking out for himself hence the reason he decided to join the NPP.
He stated, “Stop misleading the youth. Principles are not your problem. Because you didn’t get what you wanted, you’re upset.”
Jonas further alleged that Gyan felt sidelined by key NPP figures, including Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Sammy Awuku, implying that Gyan’s public statements were attempts to garner sympathy.
“Would we be having this discussion at all if they had granted you what you requested?” He questioned.
