14 Catholic choirs wow Obuasi at Jubilate 2023

14 Catholic choirs from Obuasi, Adansi North and East districts wowed patrons at the third annual Jubilate choral festival, held at St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Tutuka.

The event was a huge success, with patrons treated to a wide variety of beautiful music and soaring harmonies.

The festival showcased the talents of the choirs, who performed a range of traditional and contemporary pieces. The audience was clearly moved by the performances, and the event was a great success.

The program was chaired by Very Rev. Fr. John K. Agyekum, the Vicar General of Obuasi Diocese, who stood in for the Diocesan Bishop of Obuasi, His Lordship John Yaw Afoakwah. He applauded the choirs for their performances and encouraged them to use choral music as a tool for evangelism.

The diversity and richness of the Catholic Church was on full display at the third annual Jubilate choral festival. The event featured 14 choirs from Obuasi, Adansi North and East districts, who performed a wide range of traditional and contemporary pieces.

Rev. Fr. Dominic Baffuor Akowuah, the Vicar for Clergy and Religious in the Diocese, was honored for his unwavering support of Jubilate since its inception. He is the driving force behind this great annual choral festival.

Speaking after the event, Fr. Agyekum expressed his satisfaction with how the program had gone, adding that, “I am so proud of all the choirs who performed today. Their dedication and hard work were evident in every note they sang, and I am sure that everyone who attended the program was touched by their music.”
