Spain produced a commanding display to defeat Austria 3-0 at SoFi Stadium and book their place in the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

La Roja controlled the contest from the opening whistle, dominating possession and creating the better chances as Austria struggled to cope with their attacking intensity.

The breakthrough came in the 36th minute when Mikel Oyarzabal found the back of the net to give Spain a deserved lead heading into halftime.

Spain continued to dictate play after the restart and doubled their advantage through Pedro Porro, putting the result beyond Austria’s reach.

Oyarzabal then completed his brace in the 89th minute, capping off an outstanding individual performance and sealing a convincing 3-0 victory for the Spaniards.

The win sends Spain into the round of 16, where they will continue their quest for World Cup glory after another dominant display, while Austria bow out of the tournament following a disappointing defeat.
